It has been more than a hundred years since cars have been manufactured in Mladá Boleslav, which is a town located near Prague. The first model, the Voiturette A, was presented by Laurin & Klement car works and with the motorization of society the successful steelworks factory headed by Emil Škoda which was based in Pilsen, took over L&K. After 1989 the state-owned company was privatized and in December of 1990, the Czech government decided to join forces with German-based Volkswagen. A visit to the museum at Mladá Boleslav will provide you with an in depth insight into the past and the present of the Bohemian car manufacturing tradition.
